Hello World!

I am unhappy to report that Lis has succeeded in corrupting me. As you will know, if you read her Hello World! from a couple of weeks back, she is obsessed with videogames - forever mentioning the "Final Fantasy" series.

However, I have now discovered her fiendishly cunning plan to rope me into her sordid world of fantasy role-playing. I have been sent an mp3 of the title track from "Final Fantasy IX," which has quickly become addictive. And only the other day she expressed a sudden desire to send me tracks from the other games.

I fear that just as Chaotica was seduced by Arachnia's pheromones, I have been duped into finding more about these games. Besides, if they have such wonderful music, they can't be that bad, can they?

On a slightly more serious note, we apologise for not bringing you these Site Columns over the past few days - there's just been so much other news out there. Of course, you did miss out on a Hello World! update on the action figures of the TT editors, but that exciting development will have to wait for another day.

  • Scandal At The DS9 Wrap Party!
Entertainment Weekly reported that during the DS9 wrap party, held at the Mondrian hotel in Los Angeles, a couple were spotted having 'intimate relations,' just as Rick Berman prepared to give a speech. The report was written by Zack Stentz, now a Staff Writer on Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda. More information on the series can be found at our sister site, SlipstreamWeb.

  • Continued Teletext Hilarity
As usual, I seem to get the days featuring the British Teletext headlines, provided for the amusement of TT readers. This batch aren't quite as hilarious, however, containing rather mundane headlines. However, they do mention the 29th century Series V rumour, which eventually turned out to be false.

  • Drink Star Trek Bottled Water
The Starbase-1 Coffee Company announced that they were preparing to release a range of Star Trek brand bottled water. The bottled water was to be offered in sizes ranging from 12 ounces to 1.5 litres, and packaged in a "patented new plastic bottle contributing to the uniqueness of the product."
