Hello World!

Over at my site, B5TV.COM, I posted a news item earlier today about Twilight Zone. This is because the first half of tonight's episode stars Bill Mumy (best known as Will Robinson in Lost in Space, and Lennier in Babylon 5).

Pretty unremarkable news, at first glance. What is remarkable is that it's a sequel episode to an original Twilight Zone episode from 1960. Over forty years later, Mumy is reprising the role he played back then as a child. Also reprising her role is Cloris Leachman, his on-screen mother.

How many TV shows can say they created a sequel forty years later, and with the same cast and characters? I think that's a pretty impressive feat, and if you're in the US maybe you should hang around after Enterprise to give it a go tonight. It certainly sounds intriguing.

If you want to find out more, including images from the two episodes forty years apart, visit my report here.

Trek Two Years Ago

  • Taylor On Janeway's Life In The 'Workforce'
TrekToday reported on an interview I did with Voyager writer Michael Taylor, where he talked about the then-upcoming 'Workforce' two-parter. In particular, he spoke about developments for Janeway. "One of the things we know about Janeway is that — as a captain — she has very little time for romance, very little opportunities. She can't really cavort with the crew, she must remain in command. There's an awful lot of pressure on her, that's one of the themes of 'Counterpoint' as well. But here she's got a simpler life, and she gets into a relationship."

  • Site Columns
It was an interesting site column two years ago. Firstly, Christian had caused a bit of a disturbance with his creative news topic titling, failing to appreciate the amount of fans of Chakotay it would seem. The other thing he was talking about in his site column was Roxette. And, two years later and ever the devoted fan, he's still talking about Roxette (as I can testify). "It's time for my yearly Roxette plug again, as today airplay is actually supposed to start for their new single, 'The Center Of The Heart (Is A Suburb To The Brain)'," he wrote. He also urged Trek fans who like Roxette to visit their website.
