Hello World!

It's quite frankly amazing how quickly the Christmas hype has disappeared... this is, I suppose, because all the stores have remembered that Easter is coming. I was startled today while looking for some mayonnaise at the supermarket today (Best Foods - the other stuff they sell over here is, quite frankly, bloody awful - all runny and vinegary - not good on sandwiches) because there hadn't been any the last time I went shopping and I was almost out… what was I saying? Oh yes, today I was startled while shopping to discover that my local supermarket has already gone in for Easter in a big way. Now, I normally wouldn't mind much – I hold to the almost universal female belief that there can never be enough chocolate in the world – but, I mean, come on! We haven't even had Valentine's Day yet! Sheesh. But that still didn't stop me from buying a couple of Cream Eggs – if they made those all year round, they could start selling holiday stuff whenever they damn well choose.

In other news, I recently made, to my mind, a very sound $11.00 investment – a Dilbert Desk Calendar. Now, I've always had a mild interest in that particular comic series (ok, so I love most comic strips… Calvin and Hobbes in particular), but I probably wouldn't have bought it save for the fact it was at half price – and the other fact that I spent all of last week thinking it was a day later than it really was. So I've actually had quite a number of laughs this afternoon, flicking though the 365 different strips and no doubt, spoiling my enjoyment at a later date. Oh well. But whoever makes these things needs a better editor – they repeated the same cartoons on at least three occasions. Hmmph.
