Hello World!

(taps microphone and clears throat)

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!!!

Well, it *is* the Olympics after all.

*Ahem*

Well, I realize that this is the second Site Columns within two news items but I thought I'd get the introductions out of the way first (not to mention this is the easiest bit). Those of you who read the last site column are probably aware that I, Amy Hightower, am going to be lending a hand with the site and SlipstreamWeb (since I'm doing this of my own free will, I'm seriously considering re-naming myself Amy the Insane).

I live in Perth, Western Australia, the most isolated state capital on the planet that, if I remember my geography correctly, is actually closer to Singapore than Sydney. I've been a Trek Fan most of my life, though I admit I've followed, mainly due to my age, I'd imagine, DS9 and Voyager than TNG or TOS. I love 'Voyager', think the Holodoc rocks and am a convert to the cause of the Auburn One (see above about Amy the Insane). Some of you may know me from the TrekBBS where I've worn various hats as moderator first of the 'Voyager', then 'Miscellaneous' forums and 'work' currently as one of the three admins. I use the nickname Dr. Jekyl. I write bad fanfic.

Please don't hold that against me.

Let's see… what else can I bore you with? From me over the following few weeks, you can expect to see a review or two, maybe an interview, a number of complaints about various things in the three or so 'Hello Worlds' I'll be doing and, without a doubt, make several large and rather embarrassing mistakes in news items. So, if you find I've repeated a previously reported news item or something along those lines, please don't be shy about telling me. But be gentle - I'm new at this and have a control-freak for a work-mate.

And go the Thorpedo!
