Hello World!

Hopefully, by this time next week, I'll own Final Fantasy X. Assming of course, that the postal service/the onlien vendor I pre-ordered from months ago co-operates.

In the meantime, I discovered a real hidden gem. 'Shadow Hearts' is a game I've really enjoyed playing.

It's nice to have an rpg that's not set in some strange alien fantasy world, but here on earth in 1913. This is reflected in the game's design, from style of buildings to character outfits. It all just feels right.

Indeed, I'm rather sad that I seem to have stumbled across the game's final dungeon. Sigh. Still, it's the best game I've played in a while, since 'Devil May Cry' - and the best rpg I've played since FFIX. There are no curtsey characters and childish storyline to be found here. It's got genuinely scary settings, like an insane asylum-cum-prison with eerie sound effects that made me cringe. It even had cockroaches.

And it's fabulous that someone actually bothered to release this wonderful game in Europe. Squaresoft, take note. I've got no qualms about recommending this one.
