Enterprise actress Jolene Blalock (T'Pol) said this week she almost turned down the high-profile role of the Vulcan T'Pol.

"[I was], "before I knew it was a prequel. Before I knew it was a younger cast. I mean, who wants to be going 'beam me up!' you know?", she asked Howard Stern while visiting his radio show this Friday. When asked if Enterprise wasn't a good gig, she agreed, but said the other shows weren't. "Would you want to be on Deep Space Nine or Voyager which I personally never wanted?"

Blalock then went on to explain why Enterprise was different. "[It's] it's a younger cast. A lot of the people that are on Star Trek get type-casted and they can't do anything else. This time I get to be someone completely different, I don't look like myself which means I'm not going to never work again."

How Blalock looks in real life is still a bit of a mystery to fans, as she hasn't visited any conventions yet. "I don't know anything about them," the actress admitted. "I don't know what to expect and people keep telling me like, 'oh, it's freaky and you have to stand up there and sing for half an hour' or something and I'm like, 'oh my god, I can't sing, what am I gonna do!' And so, yeah, I don't know what I'm going to do there."

While the radio episode of Blalock's visit has already aired, she may also appear in the TV edition of the Howard Stern Show that regularly airs on E! For more quotes from Blalock's visit, please check out this thread at the Trek BBS, started by 'Xenex'. Thanks go out to Jeff 'Koganuts' Koga for this!
