The crew of the NX-01 will discover they're not the only members of Starfleet in the Delphic Expanse in the upcoming episode, "E²".

StarTrek.com yesterday released the following official synopsis of the episode, which will air on May 5:

An attempt to use a Xindi subspace corridor leads Enterprise to a bizarre encounter with another Starfleet ship.

"E²" was penned by producer Mike Sussman, whose previous credits include "Regeneration", "Anomaly" and "Twilight". Former Voyager cast member and now Enterprise director Roxann Dawson helmed the episode.

The following guest actors will appear in "E²":

  • David Andrews as Lorian
  • Tess Lina as Karyn Archer
  • Tom Schanley as Greer
  • Randy Oglesby as Degra
  • Rick Worthy as Xindi-Arboreal
  • Tucker Smallwood as Xindi-Humanoid
  • Steve Truitt as Crewman #1

David Andrews has appeared in a variety of television series, ranging from Miami Vice to Six Feet Under. He most recently guest-starred as Officer Fromansky in two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's fourth season, "All For Our Country" and "Paper or Plastic".

Tess Lina's only screen credit is an episode of Las Vegas, according to the Internet Movie Database. Tom Schanley has appeared in Melrose Place, Charmed and Touched By An Angel.

"E²" marks the ninth episode this season to feature Randy Oglesby as Xindi weapon designer Degra. Rick Worthy will play the Xindi-Arboreal council member for the seventh time, while Tucker Smallwood makes his sixth appearance as the Xindi-Humanoid.

Production ran for seven days from Tuesday, February 3, to Wednesday, February 11, with a day of second unit photography taking place on February 13. It took two days to shoot the scenes on the second Starfleet ship, with the remainder of filming taking place on board the NX-01 and Degra's vessel.

According to previously published rumours, Lorian is the half-human, half-Vulcan captain of the other starship. Karyn Archer is his first officer, while Greer is the tactical officer.

The original production report can be found here at StarTrek.com.
