UPN has premiered the trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise's "Observer Effect", which airs next Friday night.

During this episode, written by Judith Reeves-Stevens & Garfield Reeves-Stevens , Sato and Tucker return from an away mission with a deadly infection that puts the crew at odds about how best to deal with the crisis. Meanwhile, unseesn aliens take over the bodies of other crewmembers to witness how the humans react. Mike Vejar returns to direct the episode.

UPN NEXT FRIDAY ON AN ALL-NEW 'STAR TREK ENTERPRISE'

[Enterprise orbits a planet.]
[Text: 'NEXT FRIDAY']
[A shuttlepod launches toward the planet.]
[Text: 'ALL NEW! STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE NEXT FRIDAY 8/7c.]
[DNA strands and molecular diagrams float across the screen.]

THEY ARE SUBJECTS IN AN ALIEN EXPERIMENT...

[Tucker coughs and shakes his head.]
[Phlox speaks to Archer and T'Pol, who are watching Tucker and Sato in an isolation chamber.]
[Tucker and Sato appear distorted.]
Sato: "We're being observed."

...THEY CAN'T BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND.

[Tucker writhes along a bulkhead.]
[Phlox studies readings on a viewscreen.]
Phlox: "I have no explanation."
[Crewmembers appear, distorted.]
Tucker: "My immune system can't fight silicone."
Mayweather: "But somebody always dies."
Reed: "I've seen a whole crew die."
[Crewmembers in biosuits lift bodies.]

IT WILL TAKE THEM TO THE EDGE OF DEATH...

[Phlox gives Sato an injection.]
[Archer looks at a readout on a medical monitor.]
[A sheet is pulled over Sato's body.]
[Phlox is wearing a biosuit in sickbay.]
Phlox: "She's gone."

...AND BEYOND.

[Archer looks shocked.]
[Tucker and then Sato sit up; her sheet falls off.]
Archer: "What did you do to them?"

[Enterprise flies over the planet.]
