The Enterprise crew will come face to face with a group of troublesome Vulcans in one of next year's February sweeps episodes.

Sources have provided further information on 'Equilibrium', an episode of which only the title was previously known (story). In the episode Archer and his crew encounter a group of Vulcan civilians on a mission of exploration. The story of 'Equilibrium' was written by Enterprise Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, while writing team Michael Sussman and Phyllis Strong were responsible for the teleplay.

Having broken away and rejected logic, these Vulcans are attempting to explore other ways of life. T'Pol's personal struggle forms the centrepiece of the episode, as she tries to deal with the renegade Vulcans influencing her way of thinking.

'Equilibrium' was directed by Rob Hedden, who has helmed episodes of Friday The 13th as well as several television movies. He also wrote the screenplay for the upcoming film 'Clockstoppers,' which was directed by Jonathan Frakes (Will Riker).

Writer and director credits for two other 2002 Enterprise episodes are now available:

  • 'Sleeping Dogs' - Written by consulting producer Fred Dekker, who penned the teleplay for 'The Andorian Incident' earlier in the season. Directed by Trek veteran Les Landau, who has helmed numerous episodes of TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

  • 'Shuttlepod One' - Written by executive producers Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. Directed by stalwart David Livingston, whose previous Enterprise work can be seen in 'Strange New World.'

Please note that none of this information has been officially confirmed by Paramount, and until then should be treated as you would any other rumour.

Further information on all these episodes can be found in the Trek Nation episode guide.
