Hello World!

As you undoubtedly noticed, over the past several weeks TrekToday hasn't been as consistently updated as it should have been, with me sometimes posting less news items than usual or even skipping entire days. This was partly due to SlipstreamWeb, our 'Andromeda' sister site, and partly due to other parts of the Trek Nation taking up attention. In addition, my email response times have gone down even further, with some unanswered emails now dating back to mid-July.

Fortunately, many of these problems should now be over, as, starting today, TrekToday and SlipstreamWeb will be maintained by more than one person! Amy Hightower, known to many of you as Dr. Jekyl at the Trek BBS, has kindly agreed to help out in updating the site, so from now on you will be seeing news updates from both Amy and me. Amy will probably be doing about three Site Columns per week, while we'll both be posting news items whenever we run across them. A side benefit of this is that, as she lives in Australia, news updates will now be even more round-the-clock. In addition to the news items, Amy will probably also be doing a few regular features for the Trek Nation, such as book reviews and the Community Profile interview series.

Please do bear with us over the next month or so, while we're getting used to this new situation. Amy will of course need some time to get the hang of posting news, while I'll have to try very hard to be less of a total control freak :). As always, if you have any comments to make on TrekToday or any other part of the site, you can contact us at feedback@treknation.com, while our personal email addresses are christian@trektoday.com and amy@trektoday.com. Of course, you can also post your comments at the Trek BBS. Finally, if you have any news to submit, you can use our news submission form or send it to news@trektoday.com, which both Amy and I get to read.

Many thanks go out to Amy for agreeing to help with this - I very much appreciate it, and I'm sure she'll will be doing a great job. Tomorrow's Site Columns will be written by Amy so she'll be able to write her own introduction, though you're of course free to send welcome notes or flower bouquets before that.
