Original Series DVD Sets - courtesy Region 2 Project, copyright Paramount PicturesThe first pictures of the packaging for the DVD boxed sets of the original Star Trek series have appeared on the Internet.

The Region 2 Project has made available these images of the second and third season sets. Please note that these pictures are only for the Region 2 (Europe) packages and the Region 1 (North American) sets may come with different artwork, as has been the case for The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

Star Trek's first three seasons will be released over the course of the second half of this year, according to the web site. Season one is scheduled to hit stores on August 30, followed by season two on November 1 and season three debuting just in time for Christmas on December 6. Again, please note that these are the European release dates.

Fans in Europe and Australia, where the original two-episodes-per-disc Star Trek DVDs were not released, will get a taste of the new original series DVDs on the first Star Trek: Voyager set. Voyager's season one package is set to contain both "Arena" and "The City on the Edge of Forever" (story).

All seven seasons of Star Trek: Voyager are currently available for pre-order in Region 2, with the first season slated to hit stores on May 3:

The original report and images can be found at the Region 2 Project. Thanks to Carl for this!
