PlanetXpo To Host Doohan's Final Appearance

PlanetXpo has announced that its "Beam Me Up Scotty" convention from June 18-20th in Los Angeles will feature the entire living cast of the original Star Trek and will constitute James Doohan (Scotty)'s last appearance.

A press release from Planet Xpo notes that the officially licensed show will present William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, George Takei, Grace Lee Whitney and Majel Barrett Roddenberry as well as Doohan, plus dozens of actors who appeared as guest stars on the series and films.

The convention will also feature a banquet hosted by the comic actor Roastmaster. Money will be raised to help purchase a star for Doohan on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and for Doohan's charities, Cowboys for Kids and the Equestrian Special Olympics.

A new parody short film, Final Mission, will premiere at the event in a double bill with the Tim Russ film Roddenberry on Patrol, which stars several actors from the original series and Star Trek: Voyager.
