Even after a long and successful career, Rene Auberjonois has no plans to hang up his boots just yet.

As reported at the Toledo Blade, Rene Auberjonois recently taught as a guest artist at the University of Findlay's (Ohio) Egner Center for the Performing Arts. Amongst the advice Auberjonois gave to the aspiring actors was, "You’ll never be perfect. We're not looking for perfection. He confessed to the class that even after all of his experience, "I hardly feel like a master."

Auberjonois has long ties to the Toledo, Ohio region. His father, the late Fernand Auberjonois, was a foreign correspondent for the Toledo Blade. He sent Rene's resume to the publisher of the newspaper, who suggested that Rene attend what is now Carnegie-Mellon University, in Pittsburgh. Auberjonois credits the college with jump-starting his acting career.

Well-known for his role of Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Auberjonois's most recent role is that of Paul Lewiston, a partner on Boston Legal. Auberjonois is also known for the role of Father Mulcahy in the original M*A*S*H movie. Auberjonois has also done voice work, a well-known one being the voice of Chef Louis for Disney's Little Mermaid film.

Still active in acting, Auberjonois has no plans to retire, even though he's "at an age where a lot of actors think about retiring. I'm pretty sure I will die with my boots on. As an actor, you live in a state of retirement all of your life. You're either between engagements or working your butt off. The actor's challenge is to remain fit and ready to go when the time comes."
