'Caretaker' soundtrack To honour the upcoming series finale of Star Trek: Voyager, online music company EMusic is now offering visitors the chance to download up to 100 Star Trek music tracks - for free!

Starting today for one month, the company allows visitors to take "a free test drive of the Alpha Quadrant's ultimate MP3 download service." All users have to do is create an EMusic account and choose the 100 tracks they want to download, which can be done here. In order to ensure the same person can only sign up once, the site requires visitors to enter their email address and credit card number, but the credit card will not be charged unless visitors decide to subscribe to the company after the free trial run is over.

Included in the offer is eMusic's full catalog of nearly 20 Star Trek albums. These include the soundtracks of TNG's 'Encounter at Farpoint,' DS9's 'Emissary' and Voyager's 'Caretaker,' but also of many of the Star Trek films. In addition, also included are best-of albums such as the various TNG and TNG soundtrack collections and the 'Best of Star Trek 30th Anniversary Special.'

Tim Russ music album Also available as part of the promotion is the debut album of Tim Russ (Tuvok), containing 11 rock/pop songs, some of which were written by Russ himself. The offer also includes the many sci-fi albums by Neil Norman & His Cosmic Orchestra or the soundtracks from films and TV shows such as Lost in Space, 'Dune' and Farscape. Finally, users can also choose any of the other 170,000 legal MP3s on offer at the site.

EMusic is the world's first authorised distributor of MP3 music from major artists. The company licenses its music from labels and believes in rewarding artists for their music. For every track which is downloaded from the site (including the tracks included in this new offer) the company compensates the artist. In addition, by participating in this free trial you will not only be supporting the artists, but also TrekToday.

The tracks are available in the regular MP3 format, meaning that they can be easily and conveniently played on PCs or portable players, and can even be burned to CD-R for playback on any CD player.
