'Homecoming' - courtesy Psi Phi, copyright Pocket Books/Paramount PicturesPocket Books recently released new information on the Star Trek: Voyager novel relaunch.

'Homecoming', the first novel in the new series of Voyager books, will be published in June this year. According to the back cover text posted at Psi Phi, the novel, written by Christie Golden, will see the crew adjusting to their new lives following the events of 'Endgame'.

However, it's not all peace and quiet in the Alpha Quadrant, as Voyager's old nemesis, the Borg, are back with a vengeance. "But even as Janeway and the others go their separate ways, pursuing new adventures and opportunities," the back cover says, "a mysterious cybernetic plague strikes Earth, transforming innocent men, women, and children into an entirely new generation of Borg. Now the entire planet faces assimilation, and Voyager may be to blame!"

'The Farther Shore' - courtesy Psi Phi, copyright Pocket Books/Paramount PicturesThe story continues in the second novel, 'The Father Shore', also written by Christie Golden, and scheduled to be published in July. As the Borg plague spreads, the Voyager crew, and especially Seven of Nine, become prime suspects in the hunt for the origin of the infection.

"Now, with a little help from the Starship Enterprise, Admiral Janeway must reunite her crew in a desperate, last-ditch attempt to discover the true source of the contagion and save Earth itself from total assimilation into a voracious new Borg Collective."

Christie Golden has written numerous Voyager novels, including 'The Murdered Sun', 'Seven of Nine', the 'Dark Matters' trilogy, and the 'Gateways' book, 'No Man's Land'. Her other Star Trek work includes 'Double Helix: The First Virtue' and 'The Last Roundup'.
