Threshold, the new series co-executive produced by Brannon Braga and co-starring Brent Spiner (Data), will debut tomorrow night with a double episode called "Trees Made of Glass."

The Futon Critic published CBS' summary of the series, which stars Carla Gugino as a government analyst who must devise a response plan for a potential alien invasion after a US Navy cargo freighter encounters a mysterious vessel that lands in the ocean. Caffrey (Gugino) puts together a team including microbiologist Nigel Fenway (Spiner), brilliant physicist Lucas Pegg (Rob Benedict) and lingustics expert Arthur Ramsey (Peter Dinklage). Together they attempt to learn whether the sailors on the freighter have died or been horrifically compromised.

Braga is the executive producer along with David Heyman and David S. Goyer for Paramount Network Television. CBS has released information about the first regular episode, which will air next week. According to The Futon Critic, in "Blood of the Children", the team investigates a murder that may involve a group of military school students exposed to the same signal that affected the crew of the ship from the pilot.

"These [actors] are names we never thought we would get," Braga told the Associated Press (via The Montgomery Advertiser).

Describing his character in the same article, Spiner said, "Everyone I've ever known in my life, or seen, or met, or loved, or hated, is at risk of being destroyed. That's a pretty big chunk of fear, and I think that's what we are all dealing with, if we don't save the day."

"I think the level of ambition of this piece is something that attracted all of us," added Gugino. "I think we are in a place now in our world where so much is going on, and so many things we never thought could happen are happening, so I found what I read here very relatable."

Threshold will premiere Friday, September 16th on CBS at 9 p.m.
