The fourth episode of Star Trek: New Voyages is being developed into the first New Voyages movie, with plans to release vignettes in the meantime.

"Over the past several months we've been working very hard in preparation for the filming of the next webisode. A few major things have happened in those months that we have not announced on the website, but with the start of filming just around the corner, I thought now was the time to bring all the fans up to speed," noted the New Voyages team. "Please note, these decisions were made MONTHS ago - this isn't a last minute change."

The fan board stated that the original plan was to film episodes three and four this September, when the D.C. Fontana script will shoot. "However, the Trevino/Calk script will not be filmed until 2006...the reasoning behind this is that Jack and Ethan wrote A MOVIE! This special two hour presentation is still in development and WILL be filmed." During the coming months, New Voyages will present a short film series, The Vignettes, which will run about ten minutes each and will feature New Voyages characters.

The teaser poster for Fontana's episode three is now available, featuring original series star Walter Koenig (Chekov). The bulletin board also has images of the shuttle to be featured in episode three.

More news and older episode downloads may be found at the Star Trek: New Voyages web site. Thanks to Clinton Ignatov for the news.
