Scarlett Pomers, who has a recurring guest role on Star Trek: Voyager as Naomi Wildman, will be starring in the new WB comedy series Deep in the Heart.

The series, which stars country star Reba McEntire, will air on Fridays at 9:00pm, the WB announced yesterday. The show will deal with Reba Hart, a Texas soccer mom who discovers her husband, a dentist, has impregnated his hygienist. At the same time, her 17-year-old cheerleader daughter Cheyenne (played by Freaks and Geeks' Joanna Garcia) is also pregnant, by the captain of the football team. Pomers will be playing Kyra, the other, non-pregnant sister in the household.

Deep in the Heart is the second sitcom featuring a country star Pomers has tried to get a role in. Last year, she appeared in the pilot for Alecia and the Belmont Band, a series starring Alecia Elliot. Pomers was to have played the younger sister of Elliot's character, but the pilot was never picked up as a series.

Official web site ScarlettPomers.com announced today the actress has also been cast in a lead role in 'A Ring of Endless Light,' an original movie for the Disney Channel. The film is based on the book by Madeleine L'Engle and is currently filming in Australia. Other stars include James Whittmore, Ryan Merriman, and Mischa Barton.

While only 12 years old, Pomers has already made quite a name for herself. Besides her role on Voyager, she also had a recurring role on That's Life and made guest appearances on numerous television series. Last year, she appeared with Brent Spiner (Data) and René Auberjoinois (Odo) in Disney's 'Gepetto.' More info on the actress can be found at ScarlettPomers.com.
