Linda Park said in a recent interview that she feels Hoshi Sato has come into her own on Star Trek: Enterprise, but that she is something of a loner...a trait the actress claims to share with her character.

Speaking to Dreamwatch magazine (via Sci Fi Pulse), Park noted that Sato is now a more seasoned officer and has a greater sense of belonging to the ship and crew than she did several seasons ago.

Even so, she admitted, the writers reflected her own feelings of isolation in the episode "Exile", in which the telepathic alien Tarquin revealed that the character feels alone most of the time.

"When I read the script I thought, 'That is such a big part of me,'" said the actress. "That 's essentially the dynamic of any place where I find myself in a big group of people, whether it's high school or drama school or Star Trek."

This past season, Park said, Sato has a much greater sense of belonging and less insecurity. "So I think she's become a team player and is very impassioned about the mission she's on," she added.

Saying that she has enjoyed work on the show, particularly the action sequences, Park noted that if the show is not renewed for a fourth season she will nonetheless be ready to move on.

"I'm at a point in my life where I'm very grateful for everything Star Trek has given me...but honestly, I feel like I'm coming to the end of some kind of cycle," she observed, claiming to be "ready for a new adventure."

The complete interview with Linda Park is in issue #115 of Dreamwatch, now on newsstands in the UK. Further excerpts are at Sci Fi Pulse.
