Singer's Still Whistling For Star Trek

Bryan Singer, who mentioned previously to an interviewer that he would be interested in directing the next Star Trek movie, remains hopeful that the possibility remains open.

"I can't talk about Star Trek!" laughed Singer to interviewer Robert Sanchez of The IESB. "It's your fault, because you asked me about it at The Triangle premiere. Now I'm in trouble, because everyone is asking me about Star Trek."

Singer, who appeared in Star Trek Nemesis in a cameo - "I was an ensign who was ultimately sucked out of the bridge of the Enterprise" - said that he will be busy in the near future with post-production on Superman Returns and his plans to remake the dystopian science fiction classic Logan's Run.

"I love Star Trek...I have a trading card! That's all I can say!" laughed Singer, who was Patrick Stewart (Picard)'s X-Men director on the first two films in that franchise.
