Hello World!

Today, I am going to talk about Prehensile Plants. And yes, those of you who know me will now be smiling to themselves, because they have been waiting for this subject to come up in my site columns since I started writing the things.

The Prehensile Plant made its appearance in the Star Trek Voyager episode 'Survival Instinct.' You remmber, that scene where Janeway is in her Ready Room, surrounded by gifts. One of these gifts is a plant that grabs her hair, and tries to get a whole lot closer to our fearless Captain.

Upon seeing this scene - the best part of the silly episode >=) - many viewers were captivated. What on earth had happened to that Prehensile Plant that had brightened up our screens so? Captain Janeway had, undoubtedly, had it relocated it to her quarters. After all, the plant was so warm in its affection toward her that she could do no other thing.

Don't you agree?
