  • According to the Times Online, Star Trek XI's Eric Bana (Nero) is directing Love the Beast, a movie that explores a twenty-five-year relationship between a man and his car. Bana himself is a car fanatic, and owns a 1974 Ford Falcon coupe bought for him by his father when he was fifteen. Love the Beast will be released in 2009.

  • The Mercury News reports that Leonard Nimoy will be narrating Peter and the Wolf with the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra at Davies Symphony Hall on Sunday, December 14th. Nimoy spoke briefly about Star Trek XI. "It's going to be quite an experience," he said. I think it's a marvelous film, a major event in the history of 'Star Trek.'"

  • As reported by Moviehole, it has been confirmed that Star Trek XI will be released at both IMAX and conventional theaters , as mentioned in a previous article at TrekToday. "I'm thrilled that audiences will be able to experience this new, epic world of 'Star Trek,' with an incredible cast and mind-blowing visual effects, on what is, obviously, the most remarkable film format in the world," said J.J. Abrams.

  • TrekMovie.com received a short video showing behind-the-scenes action during the production of the Star Trek: Phase II episode The Child. The Child was originally written in the 1970s for Star Trek's proposed Phase II project. It was rewritten for Star Trek: The Next Generation and the half-Betazoid Deanna Troi became the mother instead of a Deltan as originally written.

  • A new video has been uploaded at the Shatner Project, which shows William Shatner in Seattle. En route to meet with "Star Trek geeks," Shatner takes time to visit Pike Place Market where in addition to checking out the produce, he finds out that Star Trek fans are everywhere and that there is no such thing as a "nice quiet walk."
