Kate Mulgrew (Janeway) is returning to the New York stage in a new play, Our Leading Lady.

Mulgrew's official web site, Totally Kate!, announced the news that the actress will play Laura Keane in the world premiere of the drama, directed by Lynne Meadow and written by Charles Busch. Our Leading Lady will open in March at the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Busch wrote The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, which earned a Tony nomination for Best Play. In his new work, 19th century theatrical star Laura Keane is preparing to perform at Ford's Theatre on the last night of Abraham Lincoln's life.

Another Star Trek captain, Scott Bakula (Archer), starred at Ford's Theatre earlier this year in another Civil War-era drama, the musical Shenandoah. President Lincoln was assassinated as he watched Our American Cousin at Ford's Theatre on April 14th, 1865.

Individual tickets are not yet for sale for Our Leading Lady, though season tickets can be purchased at The Manhattan Theatre Club. Thanks to Totally Kate! for the news.
