UPN has premiered the trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise's "The Forge", which airs next Friday night.

During this episode, written by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens and directed by Michael Grossman, the bombing of Earth's embassy on Vulcan sends Archer and T'Pol into a Vulcan desert seeking the Vulcan religious faction that may be responsible.

The 20-second promo is available for download online courtesy of StarTrek.com and The Daily Trekker. For those with slower connections, here's a transcript:

UPN FRIDAY ON AN ALL-NEW 'STAR TREK ENTERPRISE'

[Enterprise heads away from Vulcan.]
[T'Pol places an IDIC symbol with a red crystal at the center on a table.]
[When the symbol is pressed, the crystal lights up as Archer and T'Pol watch.]
[An image of a map emerges from the IDIC.]
[Archer stares at the three-dimensional map.]

WELCOME TO VULCAN, A PLANET AS STRANGE AS ITS PEOPLE.

[On Vulcan, people stand facing a mountain lit by lightning.]
[A dark Starfleet building is shown in closeup.]
[Vulcans and humans speak informally to one another in a reception hall.]
[Tucker speaks aboard Enterprise with Soval beside him.]
Tucker: "Captain, what if something goes wrong down there?"
[In civilian clothes, Archer and T'Pol stand on a transporter platform.]
Archer: It already has.

WHEN A TREACHEROUS JOURNEY BEGINS...

[Archer, T'Pol and a Vulcan approach a rocky desert.]
[Archer shields his eyes to look into the distance.]
[The Vulcan strides in front of the Enterprise crewmembers.]
Vulcan: "This is no place for your kind."

...THE LIFE OF ONE OF STARFLEET'S OWN WILL END.

[T'Pol and Archer race between rocks as energy bolts shoot from behind them.]
[Archer stumbles behind T'Pol.]
[Inside a shelter, Archer looks back at a blast of lightning.]
[Lightning shoots into the cave, sending a body flying.]
Archer: "T'Pol!"
[T'Pol lies unconscious on the ground.]
Soval: "Captain Archer, all of Vulcan grieves with you today."
[Soval and two other Vulcans stand in a corridor.]
[An explosion blasts apart a room as people flee.]
[The Starfleet facility seen earlier blows apart.]

A SPECIAL THREE-PART STAR TREK EVENT BEGINS.

[T'Pol presses her fingers to Archer's face in the mind-meld position.]
[Archer gasps and struggles in protest.]
