Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard) and Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan) will star together in the animated Racing Stripes, the tale of an abandoned zebra who grows up believing that he's a racehorse.

The Internet Movie Database lists the film as a likely 2005 release, with the lead characters voiced by Frankie Muniz as Stripes the zebra, Michael Clarke Duncan as Clydesdale and Joe Pantoliano as Goose.

Stewart is listed as playing Sir Trenton, while Goldberg will play Franny. Many of the characters will be talking barnyard animals. The cast includes Dustin Hoffman, Jeff Foxworthy, Bruce Greenwood, Steve Harvey, David Spade and M. Emmet Walsh.

Among the voice performers in the film are Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum, Dawson's Creek's Joshua Jackson, singer Mandy Moore and Hayden Panettiere, who plays a teenage girl who dreams of becoming a jockey.

"His stripes made him an outcast. His heart made him a hero," states the tag line for the film, to be directed by Frederik Du Chau, who helmed the animated feature Quest for Camelot.

More information is available at the Internet Movie Database.
