Dwight Schultz (Reginald Barclay) will be guest-starring on the first episode of the new supernatural comedy series Dead Last, premiering tonight on the WB.

The series will chronicle the adventures of three young rockers and their manager who obtain an amulet that gives them the ability to see ghosts. When they can't get rid of it, the band members instead decide to help the ghosts deal with whatever is plaguing them and allow them to move on beyond this world.

According to AP,Schultz will play a "ghost pilgrim" who tells the rockers everything they need to know about helping ghosts.

Besides Schultz, one of the series' main cast members has also appeared on Star Trek. Wayne Pére, who plays the manager of the band, guest-starred on Voyager's 'Random Thoughts' as the telepath Guill. The other three stars of Dead Last are Kett Turton (playing lead singer Vaughn Parrish), Sara Downing (guitarist Jane Cahill) and Tyler Labine (drummer Scott Sallback).

Whether Dead Last will survive beyond its brief first season is unknown. 13 episodes of the show were filmed, but the WB has only commited to the series through October. Though the Dead Last creators are hoping the show will do well enough to be picked up for further episodes, the late Summer is not a good launch time for a new show. But if enough fans of the supernatural decide they've had enough of seeing only reruns, the show may yet stand a chance.

Dead Last premieres tonight at 9:00pm on the WB. Sci-fi fans may also want to tune in to UPN an hour earlier, as the network will be repeating the Seven Days episode featuring Robert Picardo (the Holodoc).

Thanks go out to AntonyF for this!
