Hello World!

You'll undoubtedly have noticed that, especially in the late afternoon, TrekToday and the BBS have been slower than they've ever been. The main reason for this is the fact that both sites have suddenly gotten a great deal more popular since the new series was announced - the server is simply unable to handle the strain placed on it. Things should hopefully get a bit quieter soon, and in the meanwhile we're also working on ways to minimise how often this problem occurs. I'll keep you informed, of course.

Trek BBS Today

Below are some of the topics currently being discussed at the Trek BBS:

-Would you have liked a Starfleet Academy series better than Enterprise?

-Would it be a good idea to include footnotes in Trek novels?

-In Science Fiction & Fantasy: What movie was the best from the original Star Wars trilogy?

More topics can be found at the Trek BBS!

Trek Two Years Ago

Below are some of the most important headlines that appeared on TrekToday on Friday the 14th of May, 1999:

  • Ron D. Moore Says Goodbye To DS9 - Ronald D. Moore, former staff writer on Deep Space Nine posted a goodbye message to his AOL folder. "Yes, it's true. I've signed on for a two-year tour of duty aboard the starship Voyager and as you read this, I'm sitting down to write my first script for Janeway and the gang. I'll be happy to talk about Voyager and to answer your questions, before I get into all that, let me say a few words about the end of one of my favorite television shows, Deep Space Nine."

  • E3 Day 1 Report - All the excitement started, as Jeff 'Koganuts' Koga sent in his first report from the E3 Gaming Expo. Over the next several days, he posted previews of games such as 'Deep Space Nine: The Fallen' and 'Voyager: Elite Force,' then both still in early development.

  • 'Hercules' Leaves For Roddenberry Series - Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda was hinted at for the very first time, as Tribune Entertainment issued a press release saying Kevin Sorbo would leave Hercules to star in a show based on Gene Roddenberry's notes. Extensive info on that series, which of course turned out to be Andromeda, can be found at our sister site SlipstreamWeb.
