Living in TV Land, a new reality series on the TV Land cable channel, will launch with a first installment about William Shatner (Captain Kirk) in March.

Immediately following the fourth annual TV Land Awards on March 22nd, TV Land will begin airing new installments of Living in TV Land - which began as a special in August, 2004 - with an hour-long special on Shatner's life, which will also include musical performance segments, noted a press release at The Futon Critic.

The 2004 special focused on Eight is Enough star with Dick Van Patten. The new season of episodes features Adam West of Batman, Davey Jones of The Monkees and more. After the Shatner opening, all regular episodes will be half-hour installments airing at 10 p.m. on Wednesdays.

"We are thrilled to be able to bring our viewers this intimate look at William Shatner," said senior vice president Sal Maniaci. "This show not only provides a candidly honest look at the actor and icon who has personified television heroes for the last forty years, but we also get to see the side of him that is so passionate about music." During the special, Shatner joins recent collaborator Ben Folds to perform biographical songs from his recent album Has Been.

In addition, viewers will get a Shatner-eye-view at last summer's Las Vegas Star Trek convention, the set of Boston Legal, his Hollywood charity horse show, his Emmy win and the birth of one of his grandchildren. Star Trek stars Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Patrick Stewart (Picard) and Kate Mulgrew (Janeway) make appearances, as do Boston Legal's Candice Bergen and country singer Brad Paisley.

More information about the show, which airs on Wednesday, March 22nd on TV Land, may be found in the press release here.
