Hello World!

I have a videotape of Enterprise's 'Broken Bow' sitting on top of the TV and another in the machine recording 'Fight or Flight' as I type. It's sitting there. I want to watch it. I'm just waiting for the right time.

It feels rather odd to finally be able to watch something I've been writing about for a while. Almost like getting to the end of a long journey. I'm a Janewayite at heart, and as the Book of Janeway Endgame volume says, Is it not the journey that counts more than the destination?

I did this with 'Endgame' too. Had the episode on tape and ready to be watched, but I waited until the hype had died down somewhat. I think I enjoyed it more for waiting.

I think I'm just one of nature's hoarders. I have a couple of kind friends who sent me lots of American chocolate over here to England. It must have been an exceptionally frustrating experience for them, because I refused to rip everything open and eat it. Questions like "So, do you like Herheys?" were a moot point, because I liked looking at the thing and knowing I owned it as much as eating it. And yes, I still have some of it.

But I am sitting here drinking a steaming mug of Cafe du Monde Chicory stuff that was kindly sent by one of said friends. And I must admit, it tastes a hell of a lot better than it looks sitting there in its tin. So maybe there's hope for me yet.
