Former Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine colleagues Colm Meaney and Michael Dorn both have new projects in the works.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Meaney will co-star in 20th Century Fox's Briar & Graves which centers on inexplicable religious phenomena being investigated by a doctor played by Elisabeth Rohm, already known to genre fans as Kate from Angel, and a priest played by Charles Mesure, who was in William Shatner's A Twist in the Tale and several episodes of Hercules and Xena.

Meaney, who played Miles O'Brien on the two Star Trek shows, was seen recently in the Sundance hit Layer Cake, will play a character named Alistair in the drama pilot.

And a disaster movie will give fans a chance to see Dorn on the Sci Fi Channel in May, reports The Futon Critic. The actor who played Worf appears in Descent, scheduled to air on Saturday, May 21st.

The film is about a team of scientists who go on a mission to Earth's core to try to save humanity when volcanic eruptions and earthquakes around the Pacific Rim threaten ecological terror. The film also stars Luke Perry.
