Gates McFadden (Beverly Crusher) talked about the upcoming TNG film 'Star Trek: Nemesis' at the 'Salute To The Women Of Sci-Fi' convention held at San Jose last weekend.

The actress said that the film would begin shooting in the next few weeks, according to a report by Jarrod Adams on the Creation convention. McFadden mentioned that she is looking forward to working with Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard) again, as his hectic schedule has kept him very busy recently.

Although McFadden wasn't at liberty to reveal any plot information, she thought that the writing was much better than the previous TNG film outing, 'Star Trek: Insurrection.' However, the actress did drop one tidbit - there will be a couple of "special moments" between Crusher and Picard in the movie.

At last weekend's Galaxy Ball, Patrick Stewart confirmed that 'Nemesis' would soon go before the cameras. "Shooting was set to begin a week from Monday," he said, according to the Trekker Newsletter. This would mean that filming is set to begin a week today, on November 19.

Stewart added that the events of September 11 had not led to any changes. "The script is going ahead as planned, no changes have been made," he said, adding that "there is no better time for a Star Trek movie and for this movie in particular."

Thanks to Jarrod Adams for the report and photo! Further images from the convention are available to view here. The original Galaxy Ball article can be found at the Trekker Newsletter.
