Star Trek: The Next Generation has sent TNN's ratings into overdrive, scoring the cable network's highest numbers ever.

From October 1 - October 5, the TNG marathon achieved an average 0.9 daily and 1.7 prime-time rating, according to a TNN press release. This made it the most-watched week in the network's history.

In the key demographic of adults 18-49, the network was also number one. TNG scored an average viewership of 720,000 adults during the day, and 1,347,000 in prime time, an increase of 233% and 133% respectively over last year's figures.

"The curtain has risen on the new TNN," said Diane Robina, Executive Vice President and General Manager. "Our Star Trek marathon has exceeded our expectations in bringing to the network new audiences, particularly in TNN's target demographic, Adults 18-49. Throughout the week, TNN showed significant gains in key demographics, demonstrating the strong appeal of the Star Trek franchise within the TNN brand."

In addition to TNG, TNN has acquired the exclusive rights to air five of the Trek films and Deep Space Nine and Voyager starting in 2004 and 2006 respectively.

Full day-by-day ratings breakdowns are available in the original press release.
