Executive Editor John Ordover, who wrote, edited and created the concepts for numerous Star Trek books and book series, has announced that he will be leaving Pocket Books after eleven years to found his own book packaging company.

Ordover, who announced his news on the Trek BBS where he is a frequent poster, said that his first client, "perhaps unsurprisingly", would be the Star Trek Department at Pocket.

Ordover added that he would continue to work on the A Time To series, the New Frontier books and Strange New Worlds among other Star Trek projects.

"Working this way will give me the freedom to pitch projects outside of Star Trek to both Simon and Schuster and other publishers," he said.

Ordover said that his new title would be Executive Producer, High Concepts, LLC.

The announcement, and comments by fans and Pocket Books editor Marco Palmieri, are here.
