Star Trek: Online Answers Questions

Star Trek: Online has posted new information about art, ship capabilities and more from the game development team.

As reported by Star Trek Online, one of the questions concerned the art, and why "bright, solid shade colors" were used in lieu of a more realistic style. "We’re aiming for a fantastical style, not a 'cartoony' one," explained the development team. "It's going to look realistic, in terms of planets, environments, and characters, but we want to take it up a notch and make it feel more fantastic. We're going to give it that sense of wonder and vibrancy that you expect from 'Star Trek.'"

Another question concerned custom species, and the potential for making them available for other players of the game. "At Cryptic, we really like including user generated content into our games," said the team. "This, for example, is a great idea and we'll look into it."

Star Trek: Online also posted two new screencaps, one of which is pictured above. The other shows a fire and is captioned "There is trouble at this Federation outpost. Can you fight the flames of war?"

To see the other questions, head to the article located here. The two screencaps can be seen here.
