  • Simon Pegg (Scotty) has signed a publishing deal with Hodder and Stoughton to write three non-fiction books, as reported by The BBC. The first title will be a memoir about his career, the second book will be "humorous" and the third will be a "highly illustrated, lavishly-produced title," according to Hodder and Stoughton.

  • Cryptic Studios has released several screenshots for Star Trek Online as reported by WarCry Network. One shows various customized characters, the second shows a green planet and the third shows a previously seen Vulcan monastery.

  • KREN Reno reports that Eric Bana (Villain in Star Trek XI) is in talks to star in the remake of Nicolas Boukhrief's Le Convoyer, (which has the new temporary title of Armored,) if his schedule permits it. Armored is the story of a man who takes a job with an armored car company. Co-workers make him part of their plans for a heist, but he has plans of his own.

  • TrekWeb reports that a posting on the Spanish site Peliculas.info claims that an exclusive twenty-five minute screening of Star Trek XI footage will take place in the IMAX movie theater in Madrid on November 12th at 7 P.M. local time. Until confirmed, this information should be taken as rumor.

  • Hallmark's final 2008 Star Trek Christmas ornament, the Star Trek Communicator, has begun appearing at local Hallmark stores. The Communicator makes a sound when it is opened similar to the sound made on the communicators on Star Trek. In addition, three lights flash when the communication is opened or when one of the two buttons inside of it is pushed. Pushing one button will get sound clips from Captain Kirk. Pushing the other button will play sound clips from Spock, Scotty and Uhura. The ornament can be seen here.
