Pegg Finds 'Star Trek XI' Filming To Be Fun

The Star Trek XI set is filled with laughter in-between takes, according to Simon Pegg (Scotty).

As reported at The Sun, Pegg reports that the filming is going well, with time to enjoy the experience.

"Filming's going very smoothly," said Pegg. "I had such a great time. Everyone is very funny. When the cameras roll the laughter has to stop but off set it was a scream. Zachary Quinto from Heroes is just a great laugh."

Pegg is enthusiastic about the role of Scotty. "It’s a dream role and amazing fun to be Scotty in Star Trek and see it all unfolding. I think it will be amazing," he said. He even mulled over the idea of being shot into space when his time comes. "James Doohan, who played the original Scotty was fired into space, so I’ll have to do that with my ashes too," he said. He would blast off to the sound of the Beatles, he added.

An actor originally considered for the part of Scotty will be in Star Trek XI with a cameo role. Paul McGillion (Stargate: Atlantis) has a small part in Star Trek XI. Like anyone else associated with the film, he had to be guarded with his words. "It does feel huge," he said of working on Star Trek XI. And McGillion claimed that his cameo role would be amusing.
