Keeping fit results in sexy actor nod for Patrick Stewart as he joins forty-nine other actors who are deemed the sexiest "over fifty" actors.

As reported by The Shields Gazette, during a question and answer session with a South Tyneside audience, Stewart was asked whether his ripped body was natural or a result of hours of work in a gym. "I've you've got it, flaunt it," joked Stewart, but then said, "These days I don't have it."

Some might disagree with that modest disclaimer. WowOWow reports that Stewart joins an illustrious group of "The Fifty Sexiest Men Over Fifty." Stewart made the list, joining others such as Bruce Willis, Sidney Poitier, Pierce Brosnan, and Clint Eastwood to name just a handful of the "sexy fifty."

Stewart went on to explain to the South Tyneside group why he took on the role of Captain Picard. Stewart was told that the series would probably be axed after a few episodes and that was all that he wanted to do. However, Star Trek: The Next Generation went on to run for seven years and earned Stewart millions of dollars.

But with The Next Generation and the subsequent movies over, Stewart has returned to the boards. He is currently appearing in Waiting for Godot as reported by the Patrick Stewart Network. Waiting for Godot is the story of two tramps who are waiting by a sickly looking tree for the arrival of M. Godot. The tramps quarrel, make up, try to sleep and wait for him. When he does not appear the first day, they resume their vigil by the tree. Stewart plays one of the two tramps, Vladimir. The play begins previews in April of 2009.
