Hello World!

Bear with me while I rant a bit today. I'm not feeling well and the latest round of spoilers has left me feeling rather less so. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that I'm already feeling quite ill, I probably would have lost my lunch over the Seven kiss spoiler. While, knowing Picardo's legendary sense of humour, it's quite possible he was pulling our collective leg, if it is true, I have no idea what's running through the heads of those people at Paramount. Mind you, we've never really had much of a clue in any instance, but, in my not-so-humble opinion (how could it be humble when I get to tell god knows how many people about it), this is one of the more cockamamie ideas they've come up with for a long time. Since the lizard children of Threshold, at least. Or, actually, since rather more recently and that idiot Axum. Now, I admit that if it's true, I could be wildly over-reacting – it might just be a minor little scene that will have very little relevance to the episode and how Seven interacts with everyone, but still… Well, for starters, people should know by now that there's only one hologram I think Seven should be with and it sure ain't one of Chakotay. Secondly, if anything at all does become of it, it could very easily t-off a very large section of the fan base – J/C'ers have been treated rather badly by the cannon and to have Chuckles associate with the enemy, well… Then there are all the fans of the various Seven pairings, the J/7, T/7, EMH/7, K/7 and the like. Not to mention all those people who can't honestly see them as a pairing – since when has there been a hint of anything between them? Whereas some of Janeway's scenes with 7, well, and of course the Doctor who's head over heels for her… But, unfortunately, as someone on the Voyager 1001 Nights mailing list commented, in some ways it would have to be Chuckles – "they aren't going to do any same-sex pairings. It can't be Paris, because Torres would rip Seven's heart out and eat it raw. It can't be Neelix or the Doc, because they just aren't sexy enough. And Harry Kim is just too...Harry Kim-ish. Tuvok is happily married."

(sighs) I can only pray that Picardo was joking, really, or that it's really nothing more than an experiment in lip-locking and nothing more on Seven's part… anything more and I will not only be sick, but very, very, very annoyed. Hmmph. Being a 'shipper can be frustrating some times. But I do have to admit that, for me at least, the other spoiler regarding the ECH is more promising... :)
