UPN has renewed its freshman dramas Kevin Hill and Veronica Mars, both of which debuted to excellent reviews.

The Hollywood Reporter (via Yahoo!) reported that UPN had picked up both shows for full seasons, despite ratings that are not yet consistent.

Veronica Mars, which has averaged 2.7 million viewers on Tuesday nights, has improved consistently since its premiere, while Kevil Hill pulls in nearly a million more viewers and has made UPN much stronger on Wednesday nights, combined with America's Next Top Model in the 8 p.m. hour.

Taye Diggs stars on Kevin Hill as an attorney who has inherited custody of a little girl. The show averages a 1.7 rating/5 share in the target demographic of adults 18-34, noted Variety (also via Yahoo!).

Kevin Hill has improved UPN's Wednesday 9 p.m. performance by 89% among adults in what used to be the lead-out spot for Star Trek: Enterprise. Meanwhile America's Next Top Model, in its second year, is bringing in elevated ratings at 8.

Veronica Mars, featuring Kristen Bell as a teenage private investigator, earned its highest rating yet among adults 18-49 last week.
