Onetime co-stars George Takei (Sulu), Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), Rene Auberjonois (Odo) and Brent Spiner (Data) will all be on hand to pick on William Shatner (Kirk) when Comedy Central roasts the Star Trek star on August 13th.

In a press release, Comedy Central announced a lineup including numerous actors and comedians with whom Shatner has worked on film and television, including Sandra Bullock (to appear via video), Betty White and Andy Dick. Star Wars star Carrie Fisher will also be there. Jolene Blalock (T'Pol) is on the VIP guest list, as is Mark Valley, who like Auberjonois is one of Shatner's co-stars currently on Boston Legal.

Takei, who was critical of Shatner in his biography To The Stars and again on Howard Stern's radio show where he is a frequent guest, should provide interesting commentary for the roast, which is hosted by Jason Alexander - a longtime Star Trek fan who played Kurros in a guest appearance on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

"Comedy Central is taking command and putting William Shatner in the hot seat. Shatner will brazenly travel where only the strongest have survived," joked the press release announcing the roast.

The Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner will air on Sunday, August 20 at 10:00 p.m., a week after being filmed live at CBS Studios in California. Comedy Central is inviting fans to submit their own "roasts" of Shatner via their web site.
