  • The new issue of Time Magazine contains an absolutely hilarious Q&A with Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway), written by Joel Stein. Here's a short sample:

    Q. Why didn't you and Chakotay ever get it on? I have no idea what that means.
    A. To get it on?
    Q. No, Chakotay.
    A. Chakotay is my first officer, right?
    Q. Sure.
    A. I had a hell of a task in front of me, to demystify a female in command for all those teenage boys who are Star Trek fans. Dropping trou, getting into all that trouble--red alert.

  • A new trailer for the upcoming Walt Disney feature "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" has been released, featuring the voice of Leonard Nimoy (Spock) who plays the King of Atlantis in the film. You can find the tailer here at the official movie site. Thanks to Michael Kukielka for sending this in!

  • About.com's Star Trek Guide, Julia Houston has posted a new article on her site. This week she looks at "What Makes it Star Trek?"

    With such a now-crowded playing field, so many versions of Star Trek on the air, and a new version (and film) on the way, this is a perfect time to ask what actually makes Star Trek unique, what unites rather than divides the fans, what qualities Trekkers should be able to anticipate in Star Trek's future, and what, in short, makes that future worth caring about.

  • The official Star Trek site has posted another of its highly unbiased product reviews, looking at John Vornholt's 'The Genesis Wave' novels.

  • And the official site has also posted information about a new litograph that the official Star Trek Fan Club will start selling in June, showing Janeway, the rest of the Voyager crew, and the ship itself, approaching Earth. The litho is limited to 500 numbered pieces and will cost $30.

  • Psi Phi has posted excerpts of two upcoming Star Trek novels: TNG's Section 31: Rogue, by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin and Voyager's Section 31: Shadow by Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch.

  • Don Mappin at TrekRPG.net has posted a new editorial outlining how the future of his site looks, now that Decipher will soon be publishing a new Star Trek role-playing game. In the editorial, Mappin assures readers the site will continue to support Last Unicorn's Icon-based Trek RPG.
