A site manager working on Star Trek XI received moderate injuries after a head-on crash outside of a shooting location for the film.

As reported by SyFy Portal, the site manager was injured while trying to turn onto a road where filming was due to take place. He hit a truck and both he and the truck driver were taken to the hospital. Both are expected to be fine.

TrekMovie.com was able to confirm that the site manager doesn't work for Paramount, but is a local official who is in charge of the local shoot site.

Scenes being shot at this site are allegedly ones that in the movie will take place in Iowa, which is the hometown of James T. Kirk.

In other Star Trek news as reported by Playbill.com, Kate Mulgrew is stepping in to replace Judith Ivey in two one-act plays; The American Dream and The Sandbox. The plays, originally due to end on April 19th, will continue on until May 17th at Off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theater.
