Watching another actor portray the character that made him famous, actor Leonard Nimoy learned new things about how Spock could be portrayed.

As reported by TrekMovie.com, from an interview in the latest issue of Star Trek Magazine, while watching Zachary Quinto play Spock, Nimoy realized that Quinto had done different things with the character that Nimoy had played for so many years. "I saw Zachary Quinto do things with the character that had never occurred to me, which I found quite delicious," said Nimoy. "I think he really has found a way to expand the character while at the same time, if you can understand what I'm trying to say, being true to the character. He has found ways to enrich the character. He's wonderful and I'm really proud of what he has done."

The former Spock hopes that the reboot will bring in new fans who will want to see more. "'Star Trek' has not been part of the zeitgeist for some time now," said Nimoy. "My hope is that this group of actors portraying these characters will give audiences a very delicious insight into what 'Star Trek' can be at its best, and they will want to see more of these people doing what they do, solving problems together as a team. That's my hope, and my expectation, by the way."

Nimoy doesn't think that it will be a problem attracting a new audience, if his wife's reaction to seeing Star Trek XI is any indication. "I don't want this movie to end," she said, while she was still watching it.
