UPN has premiered the trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise's "Daedalus", which airs next Friday night.

During this episode, written by Ken LaZebnik & Michael Bryant, Enterprise is visited by Emory Erickson, the inventor of the transporter and an old family friend of Archer's, who may have a goal in mind beyond improving his invention. David Straiton returns to direct the episode.

UPN NEXT FRIDAY, THE INVENTOR OF THE TRANSPORTER BEAMS ABOARD ENTERPRISE

[Enterprise orbits a planet.]
[Text: 'NEXT FRIDAY']
[Emory and Danica are beamed onto the transporter platform.]
[Tucker and Archer smile.]
[In a wheelchair, Emory is taken through a doorway.]
Emory: "I hope you don't mind that I'm borrowing your ship, Captain."
[Enterprise flies through space.]

HIS EXPERIMENT COULD ENHANCE THE TECHNOLOGY

[Emory and Tucker work on a transporter console as Danica watches.]
[An object is beamed from a platform.]
Tucker: "Forty thousand kilometers. Nothing's ever gone that far."
[A ghostly humanoid form passes in front of them.]
[Tucker smiles at Emory.]

BUT AT WHAT COST?

[Text: 'AT WHAT COST']
[An energy phenomenon knocks out a crewman.]
[Reed stares down a corridor.]
[Archer dives to push someone out of the way of an exploding panel.]
Danica: "We're lying to them."
Emory: "We can't trust anyone."
[Archer enters a darkened room, followed by T'Pol, both holding weapons.]
