UPN has premiered the trailer for Star Trek: Enterprise's "The Augments", which airs next Friday night.

During this episode, written by Michael Sussman and directed by LeVar Burton, Malik defies Soong and leads the Augments in a plot against the Klingons that will make them hostile to humans for generations if it succeeds.

The 20-second promo is available for download online courtesy of StarTrek.com and The Daily Trekker. For those with slower connections, here's a transcript:

UPN FRIDAY

[Enterprise moves across the screen.]
[Text: 'FRIDAY']
[Soong appears on a viewscreen on the bridge of the Klingon ship, which is falling apart.]
[Archer paces on the bridge of Enterprise, speaking to the viewscreen.]
Archer: "Murdering hostages is turning into a new hobby for you."

A BIOLOGICAL TERROR STRIKE THAT MAY DESTROY AN ENTIRE PLANET...

[Text: 'BIOLOGICAL TERROR']
[In sickbay, Phlox studies images of germs on a panel.]
[A group of Augments approaches Soong in a shipboard laboratory.]
[A planet appears rotating on a viewscreen that flashes red.]
[Soong speaks to Malik.]
Soong: "What you're proposing is mass murder."

...AND FUEL GENERATIONS OF HATRED.

[Klingons march through a corridor.]
[A Klingon ship fires on a planet.]
Malik: "The Klingons will keep Starfleet busy for years."
[A Klingon ship fires at Enterprise.]
[A young Klingon helps a Klingon captain stand.]
Klingon captain: "Surrender or we'll destroy your ship!"
[The Klingon captain appears on a viewscreen.]
[Enterprise moves through space.]
[Mayweather, Archer, Tucker and T'Pol look at the viewscreen from their positions on the bridge.]
[The Klingon ship fires.]
[Archer stands in front of a panel holding himself upright.]
Archer: "T'Pol!"
[Cold Station 12 is hit by weapons fire.]
[A body flies up out of an access tube into space.]

BRENT SPINER RETURNS IN THE STUNNING CONCLUSION OF A STAR TREK EVENT.

[Text: 'BRENT SPINER']
[Soong marches forward, waving a finger sternly.]
[An explosion on a Klingon ship sends a body flying.]
[Enterprise is rocked from the outside by an explosion.]
[Panels blow up on Enterprise's bridge.]
[Text: 'STAR TREK ENTERPRISE']
[Enterprise goes to warp, followed by the Klingon ship, which is firing.]
