'The Communicator' - courtesy StarTrek.com, copyright Paramount PicturesUPN Wednesday night released the trailer for next week's Enterprise episode, entitled 'The Communicator'.

In the episode, Archer and Reed return to a pre-warp civilisation to retrieve Reed's lost communicator before it interferes with the planet's natural development.

The promo is available to download online at All About Star Trek and Vidiot. For those of you with slower connections, here's a transcript:

WHAT IF A BACKWARD CULTURE WERE TO GLIMPSE THE FUTURE?

[Text: 'Wednesday']
[Enterprise orbits a planet.]
[Three alien soldiers are sitting around in a circle, one takes a sip from a cup in front of him.]
[Reed, in alien garb, suddenly turns around.]
[Close-up of Reed's communications device.]
[Reed, in the foreground, looks despondent. Archer stands in the background.]
Reed: "My communicator..."
[An alien officer holds up the communicator.]
Reed: (off-screen) "...it's gone."
[Shot of Mayweather.]
[Archer and Reed move through the alien settlement.]
[Close-up of T'Pol.]
T'Pol: "It's crucial we retrieve the technology."
[Hoshi sits at a station on the bridge, with Trip, T'Pol, Reed and Archer looking on.]
[Reed moves along a corridor, holding a scanner.]
[Close-up of Reed as he turns around to look at Archer in the background.]
[The alien officer reports in.]
Alien Officer: "I think we've found a pair of enemy spies."
[Archer and Reed are led away by the soldiers.]
[Archer stands defiant.]
Archer: "We're visitors, not spies."
[An alien soldier punches Archer as he and Reed are interrogated.]
[Reed and Archer fight with the alien soldiers.]
[Archer is lead along to a noose.]
[A noose is placed around Archer's neck.]
T'Pol: (off-screen) "They're going to be executed."
[Archer looks on as the noose is put around Reed's neck.]
[Archer stares out through a prison grate.]
Archer: "What if we did tell them the truth?"
