Just a few short weeks away from the start of season three, things are hotting up in the world of Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda.

Here's a run-down of the latest news about the show, courtesy of our sister site, SlipstreamWeb.

  • Season Three Promo Online.
Get your first glimpse of the upcoming season premiere by downloading this teaser trailer featuring one scene from the episode - or read a transcript. Also includes a photograph of Trance and Rommie in their brand new costumes.

  • Crew Will Gel Together in Season Three.
Kevin Sorbo (Dylan Hunt) explained what he's looking forward to about a new season. "I'm looking forward to the gelling of the cast," he said. "Because I agree with [people who keep asking me] why the hell I allow Tyr and Beka to stay around. People keep saying 'Come on! They're so antagonistic towards Dylan. They're evil behind his back,'" the actor continued. "You know what? They're right. Dylan's a smart guy - faced with their continued gripes, he would say 'Screw this! You guys are off my ship!'"

  • Producer Talks Return Of Rev Bem.
Good news for fans of the spiritual Magog Rev Bem: he's likely to appear in an episode or two in season three according to Allan Eastman. "Brent said to me a few months ago that he could probably do the part a couple of times a year," he said in an interview.

  • First 'Andromeda' Novel Approved.
Andromeda is coming to print thanks to media tie-in veteran Keith R.A. DeCandido. 'Destruction of Illusions' is a prequel which explores the backstories of the regular Andromeda characters, particularly the crew of the Eureka Maru and Tyr Anasazi, in the lead-up to the first episode 'Under The Night.' The novel is expected to be published in February next year.

  • Lisa Ryder Talks Beka/Tyr Relationship.
Lisa Ryder (Beka Valentine) provided an insight into Beka's relationships with the other members of the crew. "Beka is not an open book. She's not going to suck up to anyone. When she finds herself caring for someone she has to find another way to show it because she can't get all mushy. I think Beka truly respects Tyr," she said.
