Chattaway Returns To Score 'Enterprise'

September 8, 2001 - 10:10 AM

Jay Chattaway will be the latest in a long line of Trek personnel to make the leap to Enterprise when he returns to score music for episodes of the series.

The composer, who has scored numerous episodes of The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager, will make his 22nd century debut with 'Fight Or Flight,' according to sources.

In keeping with the more contemporary feel of the series, the music for individual episodes will have a more "Earthy" feel, according to a report on TrekWeb. This will probably be achieved with the addition of guitars and a further emphasis on percussion.

Chattaway has been Emmy-nominated twice for his work on Deep Space Nine, and three times for Voyager. His latest nomination, for Voyager's 'Endgame,' will be decided tonight, when the Creative Arts Emmys are announced. The composer has also been honoured four times for his Trek scores by the American Society Of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

Please note that this has not yet been officially confirmed by Paramount and until then should be treated as you would any rumour.
