Filming for the two-part Enterprise season opener concluded this Tuesday at the Paramount lot.

Following the wrap, the Star Trek site this weekend posted a production report on the filming of "Storm Front, Part Two". The episode was filmed over the past two weeks, a departure from Enterprise's usual seven-day shooting schedule. As the two "Storm Front" parts share many locations, Paramount decided to film both parts at the same time, in order to make the most efficient use of the required sets. Some of these sets included Paramount's New York Streets backlot, an alley that will be the scene for "an elaborate firefight sequence," and a compound owned by the alien Vosk. On this last set, viewers will see John Fleck (Silik) in a way they haven't seen him before.

"On this day Fleck started out in his usual Suliban mask, but then he got to take it off and reveal his natural visage," the official site wrote, explaining this was because Silik shapeshifts into human form while on Earth. "That night, the cast and crew went outside into the alley behind Stage 9 for the exterior of Vosk's Compound. Though Fleck is looking human in those scenes, the shots will be digitally manipulated in post-production to render some of Silik's shapeshifting moves."

In addition to reporting on the episode's production progress, the official site also posted the following official synopsis for "Storm Front, Part Two:"

Archer and the NX-01 find themselves in Earth's past, with events of World War II altered by the Temporal Cold War."

Both "Storm Front" parts were written by Enterprise showrunner Manny Coto, but for the conclusion David Straiton took over directing duties from Allan Kroeker. 'Storm Front, Part Two' will be Straiton's eighth Enterprise episode, after directing episodes from "Desert Crossing" to "North Star".

The guest cast list for the episode looks as follows:

  • Jack Gwaltney as Vosk
  • Golden Brooks as Alicia
  • Steven R. Schirripa as Carmine
  • John Fleck as Silik
  • Christopher Neame as German General
  • Mark Elliott Silverberg as Kraul
  • David Pease as Alien Technician
Most of these actors also appeared in "Storm Front, Part One," with the exception of Mark Elliott Silverberg and David Pease. For Silverberg, this may well be his first role in television, as he graduated only this year from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. David Pease previously appeared in the indie thriller Life Sentence in the role of Ernie.

Gone from the 'Storm Front, Part One' guest cast are Joe Maruzzo as Sal, Tom Wright as Ghrath, John Harnagel as Joe Prazki, Matt Winston as Daniels and Sonny Surowiec as Nazi Soldier #1.
