Roy Jenson, the actor who played Cloud William in the original Star Trek episode "The Omega Glory", passed away on April 24th.

A football player born in Calgary, Alberta, Jenson moved to Los Angeles as a child and served in the US Navy during WOrld War II. A graduate of UCLA, he played professional football in Canada, where, according to The Los Angeles Times, he was recruited to become a stunt double for the film River of No Return.

Besides Star Trek, Jenson's television career included recurring roles on Gunsmoke and Mannix, with appearances on The Rockford Files, Little House on the Prairie and Fantasy Island among his credits.

Jenson died of cancer, and his family - including his wife, actress Marina Petrowa, three sons and several grandchildren - request that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.

A celebration of Jenson's life wil be held on Saturday, May 12th. See Variety for more information. Thanks to Chuck for the link.
